IT ALL STARTED WITH A VISION, A SEED, PEI ANGELA’S OWN SKIN PROBLEMS AND TWO PASSIONS: MUSIC AND HERBS & MEDICINAL PLANTS

As a young woman, Pei Angela – the Chinese-born successful musician – came to Switzerland to study musicology, media and Man-Society Environment at the University of Basel. Until the age of twenty-five, she mainly focused on her musical career and subsequently achieved many goals in this field. In addition to her studies, she worked in a Traditional Chinese Medicine practice where she became aware of how important naturopathic methods were in the field of alternative medicine.

Questions such as “What will support the body‘s and skin natural defences without the risk of side effects?“ became increasingly important for her.

In 2010, she founded her first, internationally active company, Wijp Ltd. This gave her the foundation to invest into her second unconditioned passion: herbs and medical plants. The search for active herbal ingredients led Pei Angela to the beneficial properties of the Artemisia annua plant and its active ingredients, in ­particular the effect of Artemisinin and its derivates.

Since Pei Angela had been dealing with skin problems for decades without finding a solution, she was so enthusiastic about the the plants active ­ingredients that she decided to use the great potential of Artemisia to develop her own skincare line, specialized in natural dermato cosmetics. 

FROM SEED THROUGH HARVEST TO FINAL PRODUCT – 100% DEVELOPED AND PRODUCED IN SWITZERLAND 

The product development phase proved to be more difficult than anticipated as the commercially available Artemisia annua plant extracts did not meet the desired criteria. Pei Angela was not willing to compromise on quality.

So she decided early on to collaborate with a leading Swiss institute using seeds bred for medicinal purposes and the cultivation of own Artemisia annua plantation with an organic certified farmer from Valais in the Swiss Alps. This ultimately brought the desired 72k’s own 100% organic and hyperpotent plant quality – and seed. From this, she developed with Swiss researchers her own extract and the bespoke, tailor-made Artemisia C-08UC Complex®, which is unsurpassed in efficacy and quality.

UNCOMPROSIMING INTEGRITY AND INDEPENDENCE AS THE BRAND’S GUARANTEE AND CORNERSTONE

In 2020, Viocap Ltd. – with its trademark 72k was founded in Therwil near Basel in Switzerland. In 2022, after 8 years of development, the 72k product line and brand was officially launched in Switzerland and abroad. 

From the initial idea, development, and production through to the launch and today’s brand-building efforts, Pei Angela Willimann, as founder and CEO of 72k, has financed all investments herself to ensure the successful realization of her uncompromising vision.

Searched and found – Conventional Artemisia extracts did not meet Pei Angela’s high standards.The search for plant-based active ingredients led to an outstanding Swiss research institute that had cultivated special Artemisia annua seeds for medical purposes.These seeds produced plants with a significantly higher concentration of the key compound artemisinin, along with other valuable substances.

The foundation: Consistently highest quality

Through an organic farmer from Valais, Pei Angela established her own plantations of Artemisia annua. This led to the successful cultivation of the desired 72k plant quality.
